Itineraries
Day 1
Date : December 12, 2025
Arrival
Connect on a morning flight to Lamu. When arriving in Lamu, you will be received at the airport with a traditional dhow and sail through the Lamu Archipelago reminiscent of the historic days of the UNESCO World Heritage Site as an old port city. You will have a village tour in the afternoon to get climatised to your environment. As part of our quest to encourage responsible tourism, our main tour will include Safari Doctors office and shop, which sells local souvenirs that benefit the organization to provide free mobile medical care to remote Islands and villages in Lamu.
The day climaxes with traditional Swahili coffee and snacks, sunset cruise listening to the call to the prayer of the hundreds of mosques in Lamu ringing through the mangrove channels. A magnificent opportunity to admire Allah’s creation through prayer on the beach.
Day 2
Date : December 13, 2025
Time : 9:00 am
Lamu UNESCO World Heritage Site Tour
Breakfast in the villa, then the group will tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Riyadha Mosque, Swahili house, and the Lamu Museum. The day will provide a chance to have the taste of Swahili food cooked usually consisting of tamarind, coconut, cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, and many other spices brought by traders from Asia, Indian and the Middle East across the Indian Ocean. Guests may also stop over at shops during the tours to buys some souvenirs. The day ends with adhkar in the sand dunes of Shela
Day 3
Date : December 14, 2025
Pate Island Tour
An early rise for a full day's boat excursions to visit Pate to retrace the Islamic history of East Africa including the oldest 8th century mosque in Shanga, and seeing the village of Siyu Zheng He’s fleet, which capsized near Pate Island. Important Islamic historical sites and monuments such as the magnificent Siyu Fort, which is the only fort built by the Indigenous community.
You will take a road trip tour on Pate Island to Pate and Siyu Villages to see key sites and monuments and engage with the local community including with a women's Islamic institute, Madrassatul Ikhlas. You will experience a Swahili women's cultural immersion and participate in a halaqa with the local women to encourage bonding and fellowship.
Day 4
Date : December 15, 2025
Beach Relaxation
We will take an early sunrise stroll before breakfast for morning adhkar and say goodbye to the magnificence of the Indian Ocean. After breakfast you will relax on the seafront admiring the beauty of the Lamu Bay before catching your flight back home.
