We are hosting our 2nd edition “Sister’s Safari” trip! A unique women-only halal group trip for female travelers who want to gain authentic travel experiences and explore new destinations and cultures while traveling responsibly and contributing to sustainable tourism. This year, we are offering a 5 day, 4-night sensory experience and a perfect escape to Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Lying only a short distance off Tanzania lies the Spice Island of Zanzibar, also known as Unguja. The beautiful isolated island is renowned for its crystal clear turquoise-blue warm waters on the Indian Ocean, exotic spices, and rich history, including having world heritage sites protected by UNESCO.

We will explore the island starting with a rich cultural experience in the historic old Stone Town for two nights on the West of the island, followed by two nights stay in the sleepy village of Matemwe on the North East lazing on the beach, ending with a full day at Kizimkazi for a sea adventure safari in the south of the island.

Our activities will include a Stone town tour, a village experience, a visit to Prison Island, private swimming in our private villa and beach in Matemwe, sailing to sea majestic dolphins in Kizimkazi, boat excursion to the internationally renowned The Rock Restaurant, and optional water sports activities.

Sustainability being a core value of Halal Safaris practices, we will stay at Tamani Villas in Matemwe where we will be able to interact with and give back to the local community. Tamani villas offer a 100% halal experience by having an alcohol-free villa, halal food, private pool and private beach, female only house-keeping staff, and a lot more. 100% of profits from your stay at Tamani will go back to the local community school run by Tamani Foundation. The Foundation runs the Tamani Learning Center, whose vision is to provide access to free, high-quality education to the village of Matemwe.

The Tamani villas won the “Most Sustainable Tourism Award” in 2019 for providing free, high quality education to 200 children of Zanzibar, a school that was also selected best in the country.

If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to get away, while also traveling responsibly, then the Sisters Safari 2020 edition is for you.
